About Dr. TP Mogotlane
Dr. Thabo Mogotlane is a specialist psychiatrist with expertise in addiction psychiatry, child & adolescent psychiatry, and neuropsychiatry. He completed his undergraduate degree, MBCHB, at Medical University of South Africa (MEDUNSA). He completed his Masters in Medicine at the Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University. Currently, he is enrolled in Stellenbosch University for M. Phil Degree and sub-speciality in Addiction Psychiatry with the aim of equipping himself to broaden his reach to the communities he serves
In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Mogotlane serves as a senior lecturer at Job Shimankana Tabane Hospital, Stikland Hospital, Stellenbosch University and Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University. He has been recognized for his outstanding contributions with the Service Excellence Award from Weskoppies Psychiatric Hospital in 2017, as well as the Best Junior Lecturer Award in 2018 and 2019.
Dr. Mogotlane is committed to delivering high-quality care to his patients and advancing the field of psychiatry through his teaching and research. He runs a mental health training program meant to develop and equip doctors with skills in treating and dealing with mental illness, especially those working in the rural areas across South Africa. His dedication to his work and achievements have garnered him respect amongst his peers and colleagues.
